Okay this 2 year remodel better be the most Amazing thing ever! Better be worth the wait because I am tired of waiting like an hour - 2 hours just for seating at the alameda location and also the hit or miss rushed food now a days. My friends and I love hang ten and just want things to go back to normal lol.

They have macaron ice cream! Maybe like 5 different flavors. It's really tasty, I tried the hazelnut coffee one. But they also have what I can remember.. twix, oreo, and strawberry.

Their seafood is pretty dang good. I got shrimps and clams with spicy level and it was extremely spicy. It got to a point it was sort of painful to eat, even when I tried to eat the garlic noodles, it was hurting.

Haha, overrall, it was really good, I'll go with mild next time. My friend said last time he tried spicy it was perfect and when he tried it this time, it was way to hot for the both of us. We couldn't finish everything. I might try mild next time, so I can really enjoy my food here.

The waitress was friendly and refilled our water when it was low. It took a little while to get our check and pay for our food but I would definitely come back.

    Enjoy!

Out of the Boiling Crab-esque restaurants to pop up in the order-by-pound seafood craze a while back, Hang Ten is probably my favorite. The Cajun, house seasoning (mild) is consistently on point, the combo pricing is reasonable (although it's understandably gone up since this location first opened), and service here is friendly and attentive.

Hang Ten is located next to an entrance of Southland Mall, and though the mall itself is a bit worse for wear, it's rather convenient to have a large parking lot for peak hours. I've never had to wait long for a table, and the servers here are generally great about timing ordering, serving, and checking up on their customers.

I think the only thing that bugs me a little is the fact that the bathrooms only sport "green" hand dryers and no paper towels. In a restaurant where most of the food is eaten with hands, I think it'd make more sense to have paper towels in the bathroom so customers can open the door with a towel in hand. Plus there are rolls of paper towels on each table, so the green argument is rather muted.

    Cousin Jeff's combo:
I almost always order this combo when I come to Hang Ten. It's the perfect amount of food for 3-4 people (or 2-3 depending on how hungry you are; I've definitely finished this combo with just 2 people before) with 2 pounds of shrimp, 1 pound of clams, 2 potatoes and corn, and 3 parathe bread. The shrimp have always been well-poached before being tossed in the Cajun sauce, and I've had minimal encounter with mushy, not fresh shrimp. The clams are generally large and juicy, though the meat tends to fall out during the mixing, which is of course understandable and lends more flavor to the meat when I find them at the bottom slathered in sauce. The sauce is really great and not as oily or buttery as some other varieties. The spice level here is also pretty high, so I'd recommend mild unless you can really handle your heat.

    Parathe bread:
I thought this deserved its own honorable mention because it's that good. I'd never really heard of this bread before, but it's a very subtly sweet version of green onion pancake without the green onions. The layers of flaky dough are soft yet slightly crunchy, and it's the perfect carb to dip into the sauce. The combo comes with three pieces.

Cajun fries, garlic fries, garlic noodles:
As sides offered, I didn't really find any of these super memorable. I like that the fries are of the slimmer variety, but both the Cajun and garlic fries were just okay. The garlic noodles were a bit too dry for my taste, although they were good with a little sauce from the seafood slathered on.

Whenever I have a hankering for seafood, I think of Hang Ten.

The area is a bit ghetto...then again, it's the Southland Mall so I guess it shouldn't be too surprising. Service could use a booster - they're great at seating you and asking what your beverage of choice is, but good luck trying to place an order. When we finally flagged the server down, the restaurant was really starting to get crowded and we were expecting our food to be a bit delayed - we would be correct.

Jeff's Cousin was the selected item, which is probably the least appetizing way to market a seafood combo. This consisted of 2 lbs of shrimp and 1 lb of clams. Signature Hang Ten sauce in medium spice level. They say if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen...I was almost halfway out, but then again, I can't "hang" (yes, pun intended) when it comes to spicy foods. It was still good despite the numbness that ensued in my mouth and we finished every seafood morsel. Jeff's Cousin was accompanied by Asian scallion pancakes minus the scallions...We also ordered a side of Cajun fries, which wasn't anything more than skinny fries sprinkled with some bland seasonings - I'd pass on these.

Prices were decent and overall, I was pretty satisfied given the outer appearance of the restaurant and its location. They also get huge brownie points for repping the Golden State Warriors - let's go Dubs!
